Beyond F*#ked up!

Last night I took a pax to the airport. When the ride was done, I get a request immediately that was going the way I wanted to go, so I accepted. Let me preface this by saying that the ride to the airport took me about an extra 15 minutes (once I arrived on the airport grounds) to go 1/4 mile to the drop off terminal. So in accepting the pick up ride, I assumed it would take 15 minutes or so to come back around and get the rider from the pickup spot. To my surprise, it took over an hour to pick up the rider. Once I got into the traffic line for the pickup, there was no way to turn back and cancel the ride. So I was stuck inching my way to the rider. The rider was very understanding as I communicated with him from time to time. What I come to discover is that for that hour plus that it took me to go around and get the rider, Uber would not give me one red cent for my time spent getting the rider. Something’s wrong with that situation. Lesson learned! Anyone else experienced the same? I will never make this mistake ever again at the airport. Too many rides outside the airport to have to wait in a damn line and not get compensated for it in some way.
