I’ve been asked multiple times here how i got so many interviews during my jobsearch last year. So I decided to share openly my tips which are quite easy tbh:

1. **My Secret Source**: As you can see in my excel sheet, *the earlier i would apply to the open position, the higher was the chance to get an interview invitation* — I stil do think this worked better than strategic networking and referals tbh
2. I would create **alerts on LinkedIN** based on my filters and would apply as soon as possible the position was opened - again, just to be in the first pool of candidates
3. **Multiple Resumes** : as you can see i was mostly targeting product roles, but even in product there are variations : sometimes focus on b2b is required, sometime on 0 to 1 product exp, sometimes on SaaS — I had multiple versions of resumes that focused specifically on those things (I’d recommend to have up to 5 different CVs)
4. **Tailoring the Resumes:** I was updating my resumes for almost every application, which means:
   1. I’d copy-paste the JD and my resume to **Chatgpt**
   2. And ask : “Act like a Senior TA and assess the candidate fitness to the role”
   3. After it would generate what was missing  to make me a good fit, I’d ask Chat again:
   4. “Now act liek a professional resume builder , update my resume , tailor it to the JD, no fluff, no flowery language, no making up experiences, just tweak my experience in a way that it focus on the JD requirements”
   5. Thats it.
5. Applying - I have almost never written the recommendation latter
6. But i have **reached out to hiring managers and TA’s** for the particular role (if they were visible on LinkedIn)
7. I have also reached out to people from my school who were working in the targeted companies.
8. **Yet, Im gonna repeat myself - the key is to apply ASAP and adjust resumes.**
9. On average I was sending 10 applications per day.

This is all about the interview invitations.

Although this is just the beginning, here comes the most painful part for me : interviews . which i have written already about , but in short, what i found useful:

1. Apart from **excel sheets and Chatgpt**, I was using **Notion** to prepare for the interview - all the info about the company, role, possible questions, my stories and etc. Combined in one place.
2. I had **3 coaching sessions** where we also did mock interviews, that helped me structure my stories better. In terms of prepping stories, in the end i also tried **superinterviews**, which helped me to make  my stories reusable  for multiple diverse questions.
3. **Recording myself on iphone** voice recorder, just  to listen to the questions , if i was invited to the next interview .
4. I started feeding these recordings to **Gemini** later (it does transcription) and asked for brutally honest feedback - which was fascinating. Later I also discovered the tool **ReveaAi** that does the similar job, like recording  real interviews or uploading audios from the phone  and  analysing them and giving feedback, like what to improve or how and etc.

I am happily employed now since the beginning of the year after almost a year of jobhuntng:) As you can see, it was far from easy for me to get here, but here I am and I’m sure you can too!

P.S whoever thinks this is yet another AI fluff, guys , chill. There are some people here who genuinely share experiences and support others.  And it doesnt matter if we use AI to type to save time.

Cheers!
