What I Give In Darkness
My love is not of fortune, nor a dystopian or cruel fate.
It is not a passage to fault, or a prediction of meaning.
My love is a carrier of faith, a devotion with no confined condition, a hand in darkness where your fears slip into silence.
My feet will move as a whisper around your beautiful poetry, will tap at the announcement of your presence, will grace the touch of your palm amongst unfiltered air.
I love you even when your perception carries loudness out of your ears and into your heart.
I love you even when your hands tremble, or even if they do not. Your halter is not of lacking or deception, but an unspoken heart.
I love you in darkness and in light. May it fever beyond careless acts and impending words.
I love you even as your crown falls and you hesitate to lift it.
I love you like summer rain and winter day, with no conviction, with no need for reasoning but the sound of music coming from this beating heart.
Your lips perfectly still, yet your mind so perfectly vibrant. I love you.
My consciousness stays aware of the limitations you perceive can only overcome reality into dismissal. Yet you shatter and I carry you, not by obligation, but by honesty and great devotion, an unconditional love with boundless spirit.
Without the compass of your fingers gripping mine, I know the steadiness of the land is simply water.
The current is simple tides.
Without the grace of your courage, our love is simply story, a misfortune of distance, creative writing from breathless whispers charged into unforgettable notes of music.
The way the physical need not be, but the energy and manifestation of your mind intertwining with mine, an intoxicating embrace only love and recognition can articulate.
My glasses are not frames, but eyes that pierce night. My devotion is not fair to time, but a honey that drips with tender nurture, not the kind that signals the motion of freight trains, but that simply holds space for a silence alive with presence and divinity graced upon my heart.
What I give in darkness, only your hands can perceive. Only your presence can capture, even with no words or movement. My love, I am not of fickle tales. I am of breath and human skin.
What I give in darkness is what burns away fear and lets you live, as you are, as you will be, as you fate upon my soul.
Without courage, without movement, with trembling hands and shattering imbalance.
What I have was already yours.
