Bestech Tardis

I recently picked up a Tardis in Magnacut from Blade HQ.

This is my first Magnacut but I was surprised that the blade steel was not stamped on it. No big deal until I picked it up the next day and realized the razor edge it came with was gone. I hadn't cut anything other than the sacrificial piece of paper and a patch of arm hair that is obligatory with a new knife.

it got me questioning the edge retention which is where its supposed to shine. I wondered if I got the D2 version instead but it has the exclusive stormtrooper, white and black, scales.

I was considering hardness testing it at work but wasn't sure if that would tell me anything conclusive about the steel material. Is it normal for the factory razor edge to dull like that? Did I just have unrealistic expectations or is something off?
