What exactly is queer assimilationism, why is it considered bad, and what is the alternative?

I’m a cishet-passing aro guy who isn’t here to concern troll or anything. I am just legitimately curious. Is queer assimilationism not just the desire for queer people to be treated the same way allocishets are?
