You are not the prize, Allah is

In seeking marriage, some men present themselves as if they are the prize.

He has that sense of entitlement.

Despite that, perhaps there are other men who are more attractive, pious, educated, and wealthier than he is.

And even if he is attractive or wealthy, time and difficult circumstances can change that.

Similarly, in seeking marriage some women present themselves as if they are the prize.

She has that sense of entitlement.

Despite that, perhaps there are other women who are more attractive, pious, educated, and wealthier than she is.

And even if she is attractive or wealthy, time and difficult circumstances can change that.

But those men and women who are seeking marriage whose ultimate objective is to please Allah.  

They know if they get married, they are not the prize, Allah is.

Prophet (saw) said, “The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions.”
(Bukhari 1)
