The Lefty Struggle: Help me choose between two Furch models
Hi everyone,
I really need some perspective. Being a left-handed player, finding guitars is a nightmare. I’m currently stuck between two paths for my first "real" acoustic:
Option 1: Furch Blue Deluxe Gc-CM-SPE
I saw the right-handed version in a local store and loved the sound, but obviously couldn't test the ergonomics (bevels, cutaway, etc.) as a lefty.
• The Catch: If I order it, I have to wait 4–6 months, and the store says no returns/refunds on special orders.
• The Cost: Fits my budget perfectly.
Option 2: Furch Yellow Gc-CR w/SPA
I found this model online at a major retailer. It’s in stock and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
• The Catch: It’s over my budget.
• The Concern: I’ve been playing for less than a year. Is it "overkill" to spend this much on my first serious guitar, or is the peace of mind (being able to return it) worth the extra cost?
My questions:
Would you risk a non-refundable custom order for a "lower" series, or pay the premium for an in-stock model you can return?
Is the jump from the Blue Series (Mahogany/Cedar) to the Yellow Series (Rosewood/Cedar + Gloss finish) worth for a beginner/intermediate player?
What would you do?
