Modern Dating is Unhealthy, Here's Why
A lot of the women I speak with whether their friends or dates, say that the standard after a first date is that if they enjoyed the date they are now texting each other everyday or at least every other day.
This is unhealthy dependent behavior. You do not know each other yet and have already prioritized a stranger over most people who have been in your lives for years. Do you check in with your mom every other day, or siblings? I doubt it, but this would be a better use of your time if earned your trust and love over the years. Why are so many people latching onto a stranger so quickly? Is it validation? You do not know the person yet and they haven't earned being a priority in your life. You may have an idealized version of them in your head, which is to say you have feelings not for a person but an ideal, this is perverse.
The healthy way to pursue in the beginning stage of a relationship is to be honest about the time you spent (ie. I had a really nice time) and continue on with your life as it was before. When you have free time schedule another date (but not before you've caught up w close friends and relatives that have earned being a priority over time). As the person slowly reveals their true self to you over the months you can decide whether to make them more of a priority in your life. If they do become a priority they've earned it (and you have from the others perspective). With time, knowing the person, you can express a genuine appreciation for one another not the idealized versions of each other.
