Why didn’t Benedict just… pull out?

Benedict was a rake and I would assume he knows (as most of the men do in the show) how babies are made so like with all the sex he’s had and all the babies he managed to NOT have being a rake shouldn’t he know to pull out? And if so, why didn’t he pull out????
