Climb distance question

I know there is a max distance you can reach to climb but you can climb up edges of terrain like on the tall platforms of volkus but:

is there a max distacce you can climb in a single climb?

Could I stand on the side of the 3tier stronghold on volkus and climb to the top if my movement stat allowed that? Say i put a ladder up the first part then charged a fast peice for the extra move also?
