Lens Combination Help
Hi all!
I'm a hobbyist photographer. I have a small Instagram following but mainly just shoot for my own interest, not as a way of living.
I currently have a R6 Miii, a 24-105 F4 L and a 35 mm f1.4 VCM. I am really second guessing my lens choice and wondering where to go from here.
I mostly do travel photos, landscapes, architecture, a few portraits. I love shooting in low light, but probably do a 50/50 mix of day shooting and night shooting.
I recently acquired the 35 mm f1.4 to have better low light performance when shooting cities with people and a higher Shutter speed. I've been loving it, it's really sharp and the focal length is a good mix for me, but at the same time I feel restricted. I need longer reach in a lot of shots and am also lacking the wider angle in a few others.
I don't want to have to carry around (or acquire) several primes (like a 14mm, 35, and longer). I like the idea of having a zoom that can fill 80-90% of my needs and have considered selling both lenses to get the 24-70 f2.8, but at the same time difference on F4 to f2.8 is only one stop of light and probably wouldn't be sufficient? I do see a sharpness difference between my 24-105 and my prime, but unsure how much of a difference I'll see in other combinations.
So my question is: Should I sell my two lenses and get the 24-70 coupled with either a 14mm or the 15-35 or should I keep my combination, use 24-105 for daylight and just suck it up and run 35 mm prime with a 14mm prime and potentially a third longer reaching lens?
Will a 24-70 f2.8 be sufficient for my needs or will I simply run into a new limitation of not enough low light performance that I can only get with primes anyway?
What would an ideal setup look like in your opinion. Trying to keep the total lens price below 6K EUR.
