V light

So instead of paying the $300 or $400 for a single kit, I purchased a kit for $140 on eBay from HairFauxYou. (They supposedly ask for your license but they didn't ask me, I guess to look legit). I actually came across their website before I realized I purchased the kit from them on eBay. Anyway, the kit looks legit itself BUT my bf and I get these pallets from MACBid to stock up on home decor and home improvement stuff then sell off what's leftover and one of them had the a couple bottles of v light glue on it. I figured since it was sold on Amazon, it probably wasn't the real thing. I tried it out with a black light I had on hand at home and it was awful. It either stuck the extension hair and not my mannequin or vice versa. I can imagine what the retention would be like had it worked decent. And the SMELL. Putrid. The glue I got in the kit is the exact same thing. I heard the real glue doesn't have a smell. So, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but did I get ripped off? Does anyone have experience with the real kit? I see these salons that are selling the kits for what I'm sure is a pretty high markup, so where do they get theirs in bulk to sell?
