How does tone work in sign language?

Hi!!

So I was thinking about how much tone and the way we say something affects meaning when we speak... if that makes sense? For example, a sentence can sound kind, sarcastic, rude, excited, or sad depending on tone. But then I started wondering how that works for people who use sign language..?? Since there's no voice, how do they show things like sarcasm, emphasis, or emotion? Is it harder to express those?
