Questions from a recently diagnosed person
Hi all! For context-I was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease the end of last year, however, had been experiencing symptoms since fall of 2024 during pregnancy. ENT believes pregnancy is likely what brought it on for me due to changes in fluid in the body that happen during pregnancy. Since it has started my bad episodes (room spinning, severe nausea, hearing loss, cold sweats, tinnitus) only last around 20 minutes at worst-the loss of appetite from the nausea does usually last a few hours afterwards too. What I’m wondering is how the disease has progressed for others? I know that it’s different for everyone for the most part but my ENT told me she would be concerned symptoms would worsen with another pregnancy and it has scared me a bit as I wasn’t ready to rule out one more child.
I have been reading from many of you about symptoms that last for hours and I’m wondering if it progressed to that point or started out that aggressive? I guess I just want to have an idea of what to expect potentially. I want the honest truth, not sugar coated! Thank you all, knowing I’m not alone in it has been a big help.
