Any advice for clinicals?

I start clinicals in two weeks. I have no idea what to expect. I’ve heard of some horror stories on Reddit and through my school that nurses will throw you under the bus. The only advice I heard was to make sure to ask the clinical instructor before doing anything. Are we mostly shadowing? Are we expected to do anything? This is a med surge clinical.
