Will Azelaic Acid truly help my rosacea prone skin?

28 F. I have type 2 rosacea. I was on accutane for 8 months following a huge flair. My skin has been relatively clear since my last dose in September 2025. However, I would get random little bumps every now and again that I couldn’t tell were acne or rosacea pustule.

My dermatologist put me on 15% Azelaic Acid a week ago. My skin doesn’t burn, but I feel like it’s flaring my rosacea. Is this normal? Will it go away? It took me so long to get my skin clear that now I’m nervous I’ll go back to where I started which was horrifically painful
