The lack of ammo complaints, the bullet sponge complaint and enemy difficulty complaint go hand in hand
And as someone who played about 15 hours so far, i can tell you that its just people not used to game mechanics.
Robots DO die quite quickly. The lighest class enemy will die to two shots in the head from a precision rifle or a heavy ammo pistol, the first hit will stagger them, the second will kill them. SMGs will do the trick with 3 or 4 shots while also staggering them in the process.
They also die in 2 melee hits, regular hits. So just sneak behind them and give them ol 1-2
People complain about the difficulty of medium size enemies like ghosts, or heavy shielded ones. But i think them being tankier and more difficult is fair considering they can drop some insane stuff.
I took about 3 hours to test yesterday just doing suicide runs for mida missions to fight as many robots as possible to learn how to deal with them.
Heavy robots can drop heavy machine guns and backpacks. Ghosts can drop sniper rifles and shields. Both of them can drop good barter items, healing items, etc. So the work you put into killing can be worth it. Not sure if its worth it everytime, but ive had some really good runs because of them.
Explosives also work really well, grenades and needle grenades to quick work of rooms full of enemies. Enemies will follow you inside buildings and try to flank you, so abusing the AI to setup ambushes always works really well.
If you expect to scrap with the bots often, getting cybernetic modules that increases your abilities to deal with them is really nice as well. Resistance to all their types of damage, when you kill an enemy you get increased ADS, handling or agility.
Regular enemies can also drop ammo and their guns. Turrets always drop ammo so watch out for those if you need some more. Ammo crates are standard issue on all free kits and you get to keep the ammo if you extract with it, so just pop it down and grab it. Ive actually had to sell ammo at some points to make space on my stash.
I beg you guys to before posting on the internet, to actually go out and try things. Theres different enemy classes with different, guns have different ammo types, they also have ideal ranges, theres lots of different arenas you can fight them, and your abilities also play a part in this.
I remember people saying the enemies in Arc Raiders were super tanky too, until they started shooting the rotors and realized how easily they died. I enjoy that the enemies are difficult and move erratically and almost inteligently. Please make an effort to engage the game on its own terms
