Erasmus nigtlife is so much harder than I thought
Hey everyone!
I’m currently on my Erasmus in Spain and I’m having a bit of a crisis lol. Don't get me wrong, I love it here, I love traveling, and I’ve made some truly amazing friends. But oh my god... the nightlife here is actually destroying me.
In my home country, things are so much earlier. Here, the pre-drinks start late and people don’t even think about the club until 1:30 AM.(I mean, I knew this would happen because in Spain many things start late but I wouldn't guess it at this level.)
I’m only 20, but I feel like a literal grandparent. I see 28-year-olds with infinite energy and I’m over here yawning by 2 AM when the party is "just starting."
The FOMO is real because I feel like I'm missing out on the "Erasmus experience," but I genuinely cannot endure staying out this late. Like, we went on a trip recently to a gorgeous city, and instead of seeing the sights, everyone spent the whole time pre-drinking and clubbing. I ended up wandering the city alone at 7 AM while everyone else was passed out. It was super cool and I met some lovely locals, but my friends keep telling me I’m "wasting my 20s" by going home early to read or rest.
Has anyone else felt this way? For those who’ve finished their Erasmus, do you actually regret not clubbing more? I’d love to hear some genuine experiences.
Thanks!!
