Noise cancelling amplifying white/brown sounds

Question

I have airpods pro 2 for a year now.

When I have noise cancelling turned on, and there is a white/brown noise (for example if I'm sitting in the same room as a turned on oven, or if I'm listening to the built in background sounds on the iphone) the noise cancelling of the airpods picks up that sound and starts making it sound wishy washy, and like- windy?

I read somewhere that airpods may do that because it either sees that sound as something that needs to be let in through the noise cancelling (like voice isolation kind of?) or it's because the airpods are trying to combat the sound of the white/brown noise by making a windy noise themselves to cancel it put or something. Apparently.

I have reset, recharged, disconnected, etc, I have done everything I can possibly thibk of. Ehy is this happening? Does anyone else have this? Any advice?
