I paid 2 Fiverr creators €200 to promote my SaaS. Here’s what I got.
A few weeks ago I decided to test something new for my SaaS.
Instead of running more cold outreach or learning ads myself, I tried hiring UGC creators on Fiverr.
The goal was simple:
Get authentic looking video ads that don’t feel like ads.
The experiment ran for about a week.
Total spend: €200 for two creators.
Here’s what happened.
Here are the results

⸻
Step 1: Finding creators
There are basically two types of UGC creators.
The ones who specialize in SaaS and tools.
And the generic “I review products” creators.
I picked two that had decent portfolios and looked natural on camera.
I sent them:
• a product overview
• key pain points
• positioning
• example hooks
Both delivered on time.
⸻
Step 2: The videos
Technically, the videos were fine.
Good lighting.
Clear audio.
Clean editing.
But they felt like ads.
The enthusiasm sounded rehearsed.
The discovery angle felt forced.
The pain points felt memorized.
They looked authentic.
They didn’t feel authentic.
⸻
Step 3: Results
We tested both videos.
CTR was average.
Engagement was okay.
Conversions were basically zero.
Not terrible.
Just not working.
⸻
What I learned
UGC doesn’t create trust.
It amplifies existing trust.
If the creator doesn’t genuinely use the product,
it shows.
And maybe early stage SaaS needs real users telling real stories
not paid performance.
⸻
Curious if anyone here has made paid UGC work for early stage SaaS.
Did it convert for you
or did it just look good on the surface?
