Finger split open mid flight

What can one reasonably expect an AA rep to do in this situation? A passenger put a full glass beer bottle in the side of their backpack in the overhead bin, opened the bin mid flight, moved their backpack around, it fell out, broke on the armrest and sliced open the finger of the passenger, (me ☹️), behind them.
