The character dynamics in the story are unintentionally funny.

Mild spoilers for the story but nothing major.

I just explained the story to my wife and saying it out loud made me realise how absurd it is. I'm an Atreides desert hobo who has been meeting and hanging out with Ariste to the point that I've basically been banned from seeing her by Lady Jessica, who I get the impression thought I was trying to bang her daughter and threatened to kill me if I ever showed up again.

The next day, her husband the Duke called me in because I've been doing such a great job and I've been invited back to the residence. Lady Jessica keeps an eye on intel so now she's probably wondering why this desert hobo has showed back up and it turns out I'm the legendary operative that has complted hundreds of missions on behalf of house Atreides and help to swing the landsraad to their side with all the favours I've been doing for the other houses.

On top of that, I've been fighting in the Harkonnen arena where I'm saved by Feyd Reuth, my other buddy, who based on the extremely flirtatious conversation we had, we're both fucking gay apparently.

Thufir Hawat is a smart man and knows everything, so presumably that includes ALL of this. I wonder what he makes of it?
