has anyone here tried dutasteride for hair loss? any impacts from doing so?

my hair loss started at 18, i believe initially triggered by an intensive surgery, which then unearthed androgenic alopecia accelerated by my pcos / insulin resistance. i’ve been on oral minoxidil & spironolactone for years (alongside metformin & more recently, a GLP-1) with no improvement. i choose to believe improving my insulin resistance could also help my hair, & am committing to working on the lifestyle changes this year (Mediterranean diet, complex carbs, exercise ect). i had gorgeous & thick hair, that has now lost about 2/3’s of its density, so just looks like very fine hair with a somewhat wide part.

my new dermatologist & i have discussed adding dutasteride to the mix — primarily for my hair loss, but also for other pcos symptoms such as (more minor) hirsutism including dark stomach hairs — & i can’t lie, i’m very interested in starting soon. i just wanted to see if any of yall here have given dutasteride a go in your treatments & how it has gone for you before starting the medication.
