Frustrated/Dilemma
This is year 14 for me. Ever since i had kids (really since I had my second and third), I’ve been enjoying the classroom less and less. I feel like I’m not a great mom because I’m tapped out by the time we get home. I would love to quit, but I can’t stay home as we use my insurance and have no idea what I would do. My husband is in sales so his schedule is completely unpredictable each day, so I am very the default parent for everything (taking the kids to and from daycare, 95% of doctor appts) unless he doesn’t have an appt and can get them or take them somewhere. If I get a different job it has to be hours between 8-4 and that puts my oldest in some sort of after school care (unless I work from home and she can jjust bus.)Right now she comes with me. As this year is winding into the end of the year, I am so torn with what to do. I saw a position for a career readiness advisor at our local tech and that seems like fun job, but who knows if I would even get it and then I struggle with having to break my contract and leaving before June. There’s really no point to this except transitioning is so hard and I feel like I’m going to be trapped teaching forever.
