Xbox series X not shutting down.

I have an issue with my series X that has been happening in the past 2 weeks. When I turn it off, it doesn't shut down, the Xbox button light keeps blinking for what seems an eternity. I have waited it out and it eventually shuts down, then the issue disappears for a while just for it to happen again. It seems odd to be doing it this often, I've also tried power cycling, hard reset and so on... Nothing works.
