I feel lost about my future after college and what I’m currently studying.
Pretty much the title. I’m a 2nd year. I started engineering my first year, but it felt too conceptual. I enjoy math-heavy subjects, so I switched to business(accounting). Already, I like how the classes feel very real-world, but the subjects are boring to the point where my grades are worse than in engineering. I’ve had this fantasy about doing something medical. I initially strayed away from it because I didn’t want to be in school for the next decade. This semester, I wanted to try a chemistry class(since I’ve already taken physics I and II) to really see if I was idolizing the medical field or if I’d actually enjoy the coursework. To be honest, it’s my favorite class right now, but I’m still not really inspired by the subject. I’m mostly trying to slog through it with good grades instead of absorbing the material. I’m also trying hard to get a job this summer to pay for my apartment next year. The only issue with that is, if I have a paying job, it’ll most likely be business-related, which leaves less time to get hours for med school. This morning, it kind of all hit me, and I feel really lost, like an academic version of zoochosis or something 🫤. Any advice would be helpful. I could use other perspectives and life experience.
