How to use link charges

I recently noticed link charges in my backpack and when looking it up, I read that you can use them to enter mega raids instead of a pass. When trying this out on a mega gardevoir raid, though, it didn’t give me the option to use link charges (I have 1200 rn). I’m confused, how do I use them?
