Shiny Charmander Hunting (Soft Reset)

I'm trying to shiny hunt my starter for Charmander through soft resets and I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if it's even worth it or if anyone has any personal experiences they could share with how long it took you to finally get one.

TIA

Ive been playing Pokemon games since Gameboy Color have NEVER seen a Single Shiny Ever ✨
