Update on my earlier post today "Arms are unbearably itchy for days after allergy shots". Got some instant relief finally! Possibly might help someone else?

As in my earlier post, today is day 3 of horrible itching after my shots. I had tried antihistamines, Benadryl cream, ice packs, Xylocaine, and even Prep H. Nothing was helping. Tonight, out of desperation, I soaked a washcloth in almost boiling hot water and pressed it briefly but hard against the back of both arms. Repeated that a couple of times. The relief was instant. It's been about a half hour and the itch hasn't returned. The arms are still red, but NO itch!

This makes no sense to me because I don't think heat is recommended at all. It almost felt like I was shocking the nerves or something. (The water was very VERY hot.) I just thought I'd mention this if it might help someone else, but do use with caution and don't burn yourself.
