I think I have herpes

I think I have a cold sore on mt mouth, I'm only fifteen, and no, I've never even held hands romantically. it's not a huge cold sore, and I've gotten this before a few years ago. I'm not too worried, but I gotta know what it's like to have mouth herpes and what to expect. Will my kids get herpes if I have some in the future?
