The Creative Writing Society: Seeking 10 Serious Writers for a High-Concept Weekly Guild (via MS Teams)

Critique Partners & Writing Groups

Are you tired of casual writing groups that lack discipline? I am establishing a selective, high-concept community: The Creative Writing Society.

This is not a social club for hobbyists; it is a professional guild designed for technical growth, deep-dive critiques, and pushing the structural boundaries of fiction. We are looking for writers who view their craft as a precise instrument, those who are published or possess a strong, disciplined literary portfolio.

Society Structure

  • Support: Collective support regarding manuscript preparation, publishing processes, and advanced literary techniques.
  • Genre/s: Literary Fiction, Science Fiction
  • Goals/expectations/commitment: Each week, a member is appointed as "The Curator" to set a specific atmospheric or technical challenge. During meetings, we read, analyze, and apply rigorous but constructive critiques to refine each other's work.
  • Writing/experience level: Preferably writing experience
  • Meeting place: Weekly (or bi-weekly) live sessions conducted via Microsoft Teams.
  • (Writing groups only) Max size: 10-15

ADMISSION CHALLENGE: "The Last Transaction"

Entry into this Society is earned through a specific gatekeeping task. To apply, you can respond to the following prompt in exactly 100 words and send it via DM.

"For years, I have lived among these shelves like a ghost haunting its own museum, cataloging the invisible shivers of history. I am the old and weary Collector of Silences, and today, I am closing this heavy door forever. I have harvested and traded the stillness of abandoned pashas' villas and the unspoken shames of old Istanbul. Now, only one vial remains which is a substance as thick and heavy as a lost memory. You, the Writer, stand before me now. You are the only one who can dissolve this absolute void into the blackness of your ink, betraying the silence to grant it a soul. I surrender this final piece of my life’s work to you; for even the deepest void needs an heir who is brave enough to turn its weight into a story."

Describe the physical texture of this final vial as I hand it to you, and the vision you see trapped inside the void. Since this is our final exchange, what abstract price (a memory, a dream, a breath) do you give me in exchange?

Strict Constraints:

  • Word Count: Exactly 100 words (No more, no less).
  • Forbidden Words: Do NOT use: Silent, noise, sound, money, sell, end, help, ship.
  • Tone: Melancholic, professional, and intensely descriptive.

Send your 100-word response via DM along with a brief note about your writing background.

Only the 10 writers who best "inherit the void" will receive an invitation to our MS Teams workspace. We are looking for metaphoric depth, adherence to constraints, and stylistic mastery.
