My Budgie has a weird thing under his wing, and was bleeding a little
Dawn is about 6 years old. He’s pretty energetic, he likes to play with his cage mates, and sing to the wall occasionally (he’s fine, he just can’t sing to his friend Bailey). He loves his water. Every time we put water in the cage, whether it be for drinking or bathing, he is on top of it. He loves spinach, and is currently on a primarily seed diet. He gets spinach every once in a while, but usually just seed. The water is dosed with a vitamin which I will send a picture of.
His temperament is usually loud, and he doesn’t usually take a lot of naps. One or two during the day. But for the last week, week and a half? Naps 24/7. He does that sometimes, and then goes about his business and acts normal within the next few days, but he hasn’t bounced back, and today I found something really worrying.
He started vomiting. Given that Emerald also vomited in the past, I knew that it would stick on Dawn and make it uncomfortable for him. So to ensure it didn’t stick, and harden, I took a damp paper towel, and wiped him down, but as I was wiping him he started to push (wiggle) away from me. He was on what we call “the platform” which is a roughly 3x6 in cut of wood (it’s a perch we bought with several others, natural wood).
This is also around the time I go to wipe his wing. As I try to wipe his wing, he lifts it and I see what looks like a darkish brown “bean”. I couldn’t get a really good look, and was honestly really scared to look again, and a.) see it’s worse than I thought, or b.) hurt him more. So I put him in our new carrier. I looked back at the platform and say two small red dots. They weren’t there before, and that was where Dawn had wiggled to get away.
I’m scared for him, and I don’t want to lose another budgie. Not just for me, but also for Bailey and Pepsi, who are his cage mates. I feel bad, because I should have been more suspicious of his behavior sooner. Where can we send him, what can we do, and what can I do now to help him, because I feel really bad.
