UPS keeps asking for proof of damage on packages that never delivered.
I received three boxes of tile from Tilebar on Tuesday. Actually, one box was empty and had a big gash on the side, the other two were beat half to death and I didn’t receive them, the driver brought them to my porch, we discussed it and then he took them back, showed me where it was marked delivery refused/damaged on his handheld screen thingy.
Since then Tilebar seems to have gotten confirmation of the damaged boxes and has sent out a replacement already. But UPS keeps calling me and asking me to upload “proof of damage” to their website. No matter how many times I remind them that I DON’T HAVE the boxes, nor do I have any proof of damage because UPS HAS THEM, I keep getting the same robotic repeated request. At one point I was so convinced it was bad AI calling me I said “I want to talk to a real person.” Given how offended they were at that I seemed to have been wrong.
How do I stop them asking me for proof of damaged boxes that I don’t have? This isn’t a case where I had them come back and pick up damaged boxes, they spent all of two minutes on my porch and were in possession of the UPS driver the entire time.
