Does my crush actually like me, or Does he see me as a friend? I need some outside opinions because I feel like I’m going in circles in my head. For context: this would be his first relationship. From what I’ve heard, he doesn’t think anyone would like him or ask him out. A couple weeks ago, he liked another girl and asked her out, but she rejected him. Part of me thinks he might be interested in me… but another part of me worries he just likes the attention. I honestly don’t know if I’m overthinking. Why I think he might be interested: He replies to my texts pretty quickly. He makes eye contact when we talk (could just be politeness though). He accepts food I bring him. He checks on me if I look upset and asks if I’m okay. I’ve caught him staring at me in class before. He complimented my hair. He agreed to hang out with me. He seems interested in my life when we talk in person. He smiles a lot when I’m talking and jokes around with me. Why I think he might not be interested: He mostly sticks to surface-level topics and doesn’t engage much in deeper conversations. He’s canceled our plans twice (once for a family thing, once because he said he was busy with homework). Recently he hasn’t really asked me questions over text or seemed that engaged. When I asked to call him, he ended up being on a Discord call with his friend at the same time, which made it feel kind of one-sided. He rarely texts first. He’s said he doesn’t really like texting, so maybe that’s part of it. So… does this sound like someone who’s genuinely interested but maybe shy/inexperienced? Or does it sound more like he enjoys the attention but isn’t that serious? I’d really appreciate honest opinions.
