How likely is it to get double instead of king when booked on points? (Tokyo)

Most hotels in Tokyo when booking on points mainly have their King room available only for standard redemption. How easy is it to request and secure a double for an upcoming trip? I'm traveling with my mom and definitely want separate beds so wondering what the best way to get it.
