So my girl still has all 4 legs

However two months ago she broke 3 bones in her metatarsals. Got surgery to repair it and it failed.

So now she needs another surgery however an option is to also amputate her leg instead (purely out of fear of another failed surgery and also cost/healing time bc she’s have to be locked up for another 8 weeks)

Is it cruel that I want amputation? Ortho surgery comes with biweekly cast changes. Lock down for 8 weeks. And overall will cost more money.

Vs amputation is just removing the leg and then I’m assuming another post op check up and then just learning to live with it?

Wondering everyone’s experiences or maybe why your cat lost a leg and how their recovery looked. I feel guilty even considering it but it seems like it might be the better option

Our cat is very lazy and just likes to lay all day. Indoor only, and isn’t a big jumper or anything like that.
