Young Investing
I just turned 18 and wanted to start investing. After some research i’ve decided on ETF investing through pearler, i moved all my cash into a macquarie savings account that gets 4.85% pa then 4.6% pa after 4 months and am using a sizeable amount through pearler for ETFs.
I was thinking of doing
QUAL - 35%
VAS - 30%
NDQ - 25%
QUS - 10%
Does this get what i want? All invested through the ASX for tax simplification and avoiding exchange rates etc. and this will be long term investing for well into the future, just set and forget. I will be doing regular monthly investments of hopefully $800 depending on income and expenses each month.
This leaves me with 40% of my cash into a HISA as an emergency fund. 40% invested for growth. and the remainder of cash sitting in another HISA but primarily for expenses and day to day money.
I also have a small super account but i’m making a contribution of 1k to get the government match of $500 as i will likely be doing for the next couple of years too.
Any tips or insights are really appreciated. I’m not overly sure on the ETFs i tried to diversify across AUS/US/GLOBAL and across industries while staying high growth.
