SGMA in spring

I know sgma 217 is very group based, should I take this in spring or in fall/winter. Are spring classes gonna have hard workers are worse than normal? I know many of the dual degree people take sgma in spring. Just wondering if I’m making a mistake doing this in spring , thank you
