PC first turn on

I've recently purchased a PC. ive unboxed it, hooked it up, and it powers on. the only trouble is nothing appears on my monitor. ive heard of memory training but I dont expect that would take an hour and a half so far. I'm not savy enough to take it apart and not sure what to do?
