FP&A vs Internal Audit at Bank
Hey everyone!
As a junior in college, which internship would you take? FP&A at a F100 TMT company, or internal audit at a bulge bracket bank in NYC? The FP&A internship can lead to an FLDP upon graduating, and the internal audit summer analyst program can lead to a full-time offer.
Internal audit at the bank pays more, and from what I’ve researched, salary progression is very good at NYC banks, even for internal audit as a back office role, with $200k+ likely with 10+ YOE.
I think corporate finance is more interesting, and exit opportunities are better, but I’m not sure that the salary progression is as good as internal audit at a major global bank. I think the WLB for both careers is similar too.
But I’m just a student, and would like some advice from people who have more experience or knowledge :)
Thank you!
