Emailing resumes for job applications.

Applications

I find that job applications where they ask you to send your resume to the Hiring Manager are much more straightforward. In most cases too, that person is the one who makes the decision on who to hire.

I also noticed jobs like this mostly do not get widely posted.

My mentor sent one of such jobs to me. It wasn’t posted on any job website, only on the company website.

Emailed my resume on February 12th, HM replied saying thank you and that they’ll be in touch if they want to move forward.

Job closed on February 16th. HM emailed me February 24th inviting me to a virtual interview. I was also recommended by a Dean for this job.

HM said I should prepare a list of 3 work references and that I’ll hear back by early next week if they’re hiring me, but that she still had a few more interviews.

I honestly prefer this method to creating a profile everytime you want to apply for a job, and in the end they might not even contact you.

Anyone else share the same thoughts?
