Bop, an embeddable language for Rust, designed for teaching/learning to code, no dependencies, no-std and wasm compatible

I was working on a collaborative coding game project (in Rust), and needed a sandboxed scripting language. Instead of trying to run python or javascript in a sandbox and worrying about all the ways someone might jailbreak it, I created Bop, a simple embeddable programming language designed to be easy to learn. Optional semicolons, familiar syntax, no weirdness. Not trying to frame it as a new programming language. I built it for this specific project. However I thought the easily embeddable nature of it might make it useful for other things too.

I used Claude Code to create Bop. It has zero dependencies and also supports no-std and WASM. You can run it in the browser. There are some protections against stack overflow or OOM scenarios.

I thought I'd share in case it's interesting to anyone. I thought it was fun.

If you want to see an example of what it can do, I've been working on a web app for teaching coding, called bopcode. This is also open source. I'm hoping it could be useful for teaching. I'm not trying to profit from it. I just wanted to make something that can help people get into coding without the initial steps feeling like such a big leap (I know there are many things like this - I just wanted to contribute my own). The web app is completely standalone, no tracking, no ads. And the code is MIT licensed. Use it however you like.
