I can’t bring myself(19F)to call my bf(28M)pet names and it makes him overthink.

Hey y’all, so I’m very new to relationships. (It’s been a week lol) He’s my first boyfriend while I’m his 6th girlfriend, so I honestly don’t know what I’m doing while he does. As like the title says, I just can’t call him pet names. A few days ago, he found out about my old situation, that happened 2 years ago. (I have also known him for 2 years. We been friends for 2 years before dating) and he started overthinking, I won’t say the reason why but when I was reassuring him. I wasn’t adding any pet names to the paragraphs. And me not adding pet names to paragraphs made him think I’m not into him. The paragraphs sounded very serious and formal I guess. And he told that hurts him. I do say “I love u” and act cute to him everyday, he says it’s fine that I don’t call him pet names but I know it’s not.

Any help to start using pet names on ur love ones?
