Recommendations for 2nd card aimed toward travel

Card Recommendation Request (Template Used)

some context: I use my current credit card for 99% of purchases (not including mortgage/ utilities that don't allow me to use a CC) and pay it off fully every month.

I am looking to get another Credit Card to compliment my current card (and am open to suggestions on switching from my current card as well). As I mention below, I prefer simple rewards but will take advantage of category cards if its worthwhile, with the caveat that at some point it would become too much (from what I've seen things like the amex gold/plat would likely be too many hoops to jump through). I would really love someone to give me some insight into just how much "work" it is to make these high AF cards worth it - some places make it seem like a lot, some places make it seem super easy.

I am looking to start internationally traveling this year and hopefully most years moving forward and would love a card that can better help me do that. I have done next to no traveling in my life, so I have no preferred airlines, hotels, partners, etc.

I have also considered switching my primary card as there are cards that seem strictly better (WF active cash for example) - would love opinions on if this is worthwhile with it being my only card, or if it would likely be too big of a hit to lose the credit history.

  • Current cards: (list cards, limits, opening date)

    • C1 quicksilver 15k limit, opened 2019
  • FICO Score: 787

  • Oldest account age: 7 years

  • Chase 5/24 status: N/A

  • Income: e.g. $100,000

  • Average monthly spend and categories over the last 12 months (according to C1 spend analyzer):

    • "merchandise" : $1833 (majority amazon, costco, lowes. I bought my first house about 12 months ago and there were a lot of projects, I would expect this number to drop significantly over the next 12 months)
    • "professional services" : $500 (work on the house, probably not predictive of future spending)
    • Gas: $250
    • Dining: $175
    • Grocery: $175
    • Entertainment: $150
    • Phone/cable: $100
  • Open to Business Cards: No

  • What's the purpose of your next card? I would like to begin traveling

  • Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Venture(x), WF autograph/journey, briefly looked at amex gold/platinum, chase's suite of cards, bilt

  • Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? prefer simpler rewards but OK with categories if it is worthwhile

Also I know Wells Fargo offers a credit card switch program to upgrade cards - Does anyone know if capital one offers anything similar? if so that would be a pretty significant advantage for C1
