Ex got married within 6 months of our breakup.

My ex and I were together for a total of 3 years (with a string of time in the middle where we were “just friends”). He’s 35, I’m 31, if that adds context.

He got married to some one else within 6 months of us breaking up. And then expecting a baby within 3 months (maybe a bit less ) of marriage.

I’m not sure the exact details matter, but there was no villian in our relationship. No cheating, no major red flags. We really loved eachother. My first experience of genuine love.

But incompatibilities. Including his complacency - he was very comfortable staying comfortable, that included how he approached our relationship. He said himself he got complacent.

I was the one who ultimately called it. It was so hard to do. I loved him.

He was upset on the night of the breakup and as he left, he told me to ”think about it” and reconsider. But it was never going to work. We didn’t talk again.

Then, he got married within 6 months. I sent him a genuine “congrats!” text, I was happy for him. Now it’s a knife to the heart. I’ve never heard from him.

I’m in a state of shock.
