Teen son hard time making friends

Good afternoon, I know that times are different but I feel like since Covid especially teens not into sports or close friends who may be only children really have struggled.

Our son loves stem, reading and coding. However, even at school he’s really struggling to find his tribe and often gets ignored. Is anyone else seeing this with teens? Where do introverts go to find their tribe? What can adults do to support? It seems bullying looks so different and more hurdles to make genuine friendships. Would love others take on this.

He is in clubs and extracurriculars but seeks to make genuine connection as he gets mocked at his FRC team.
