Arnold Palmers, yes or no?

Question

I’m genuinely confused about why I constantly experience so much… hesitation for lack of a better word… when I go to Wendy’s and ask for an Arnold Palmer. For one, it seems like no one knows what it is? Sweet tea topped off with lemonade…? But tonight, we got what seemed to be a premade strawberry tea from the machine? I’ll sometimes ask for it to be made with the natural lemonade, which seems to confuse the employees even more- and I can understand why if they already don’t know what an AP is. But my thing is, why don’t they just ask for clarification?

Is it against policy to make one with the natural lemonade? Or to make one period? I feel bad correcting them more than once and often just leave with the incorrect drink cause I know it’s hard working in the service industry…but I genuinely just want what I paid for. I’ve already decided that I just need to change the way I ask for the drink- sweet tea topped with lemonade rather than the name of the drink itself.

As a server, not in fast food but a traditional restaurant, the impatience and lack of curiosity in order to make the order correctly just really astonishes me. For context, we live in the South and experience this at just about every fast food place we go to. They also didn’t give me my honey mustard which just makes all of this more sad as I’m pregnant and just wanted to soothe a craving 😭
