Why do Witnesses only encourage positive thinking about other Witnesses? But then they demonize non-members?

Look I know it’s a cult and all… but wtf??

I know an elder that takes offence when I complain about some brothers/ sisters attitude. He wants me to only think positively about them. Yet he talks shit and don’t hesitate to badmouth non-JWs/ former members.
