Can't apply reward

I've got a $20 reward and I'm trying to buy Pokémon LeafGreen which is 19.99. It won't let me apply the reward since it's more than the total. I really don't want to have to buy anything extra just to use it. Any workarounds or suggestions for something maybe a dollar or two?
