Should I trust her
I’m in a long distance relationship. The other day I was on a video call with my girlfriend. Mid conversation she suddenly puts her hand over her mouth like she’s trying to hush someone off camera. Not a casual “one sec” it was clearly directed at someone in the room.
I asked her about it straight away.
She tells me it was her neighbour apparently a married guy who “came to check on her.”
Okay.
Now maybe I’m insecure, but why would you need to hush a neighbour? And why would he just casually be in your place during a video call with your boyfriend?
Fast forward two days later. I FaceTimed her again. My phone shows the call connected. Not ringing. Connected. I waited. No answer. Later she says she “never got the call.”
How does that even happen? If it connected on my end, doesn’t that mean it went through?
Now I’m stuck between:
Trust her and assume it was just awkward timing and some kind of tech glitch.
Or accept that something feels off and I’m ignoring red flags.
For context:
She says the neighbour is married.
She says he was just checking on her.
She denies getting the FaceTime even though it shows connected on my phone.
I don’t want to be paranoid, but I also don’t want to be naïve.
Am I overthinking this or does this sound sketchy to you?
